FC Goa North thump Poira
PANJIM: FC Goa North 2 defeated GFDC Poira, 4-1 in a boys U-13 pre-quarterfinals match of the GFDC Rising Star Football Festival at Aldona ground, on Saturday.
PANJIM: FC Goa North 2 defeated GFDC Poira, 4-1 in a boys U-13 pre-quarterfinals match of the GFDC Rising Star Football Festival at Aldona ground, on Saturday.
In a U-10 Boys match at the same venue GFDC Valpoi defeated FC Goa North 3 via tie breaker, 5-4.
Whereas Benaulim defeated FC Goa South 4 by a comfortable margin of 4-0 in an U-10 Boys match played at Navelim ground. It took the Benaulim side 15 minutes to find the back of the net through a fine shot by Captain Klyne Fernandes.
Calvin Fernandes who played a good game in the midfield, added two more goals to the tally, in the 17th and 30th minute off a long range effort, with FC Goa goalkeeper fumbling with the collection.
Klyne rounded off the score with his second of the day in the 33rd minute after beating his marker and scoring from an acute angle. After this win Benaulim have kept their unbeaten record intact in this tournament with another strong performance.
In a U-13 boys match at the same venue GFDC Devabhag overcame FC Goa South 2-0. The scorers for Devabhag were Alrich Fernandes and Walson Fernandes.
